Tim Harper Named New Scout Executive

Tim Harper has been named the new Scout Executive for the Tuscarora Council, Boy Scouts of America. He begins June 1, 2010.

Harper has more than 28 years of experience working with the Boy Scouts. He has worked with the Raleigh, High Point and Burlington area councils in North Carolina and also the Tyler, Texas area council.  Harper most recently served as the director of finance for the Old North State Council in Greensboro.

Harper, a native of Deep Run, NC, was involved with Scouting as a youth and earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

He is married and has two adult daughters and a 13-year-old son.

Harper replaces Harold Keller, who spent four years with the council and is now working with the national office of the Boy Scouts.
